YouTube Music is getting a pretty important UI update. In the card library a section is starting to appear Recent activity, where all the latest content played is listed.
A similar function has been present for some time on Play Musica, but in this case the dynamics are a bit different. The latest video contents are listed individually in a list scrollable laterally, but pressing on the title you will have access to a more complete and detailed listening history, which also includes audio-only tracks.
Another function taken directly from Play Music is the ability to allow external devices to start playback. In other words, when connecting wired or wireless speakers or headphones or hands-free systems, you can decide whether to automatically start the music, without having to press anything. By default the function is active.
Play Music still has some more features than the newcomer, despite the fact that Google has already said it wants to close it later this year. The hope is that the colossus will use the remaining months to bring the two applications at least in equal measure.
The Recent Activity section is being distributed both on the Android app, both on the iOS app and on the Web page; the automatic playback seems instead only the prerogative of Android.
