During the last Xbox Games Showcase Phil Spencer confirmed that Microsoft would return to talk about other Xbox games very soon, through an event dedicated to some of the teams that did not appear during the last presentation.
On that occasion, the head of the Xbox division did not announce a date, but it seems reasonable to expect that the next appointment will be set for the month of August. The source? No less than Phil Spencer himself! The context in which this declaration took place is not official, so it is always good to take the news with the pliers, however it is difficult to ignore it, especially considering the author of the comment.
The detail emerged during a long interview that Spencer gave to iJustine (find the video just below, it is discussed at 18:30), during which he also took the opportunity to thank the developers who showed their games during the Showcase. In particular, Spencer highlighted the proximity to Square Enix and SEGA, two of the main representatives of the Japanese video game industry, which has always been very wary of the Xbox world. It seems in fact that with Series X things could change and that Microsoft is strongly intent on establishing solid collaborations to be able to establish itself also in Japan, a detail that we also highlighted in the direct yesterday afternoon.
The existence of an event in August was already in the air for some time and this appointment could be particularly important also in terms of hardware, as well as software. We recall, in fact, that all the clues suggest that the economic variant of Xbox Series X – or Lockhart – should be presented next month, so the attention towards this event is particularly high.
