By now it's clear: Xbox Series X won't be the only next-gen console Microsoft will soon bring to market. Alongside it there will also be a cheaper version: Xbox Series S, codenamed "Lockhart". Today comes yet another confirmation of the fact that the console exists, and in all likelihood it will be launched together with its older sister.
On Twitter, in fact, a user with a particularly attentive eye (and not surprisingly he chose Braviary, a Pokémon-eagle, as a profile picture) noticed how in the packaging of his new Xbox controller, among the compatible consoles, also Xbox Series S is mentioned. .
I got a new controller for my Xbox since mine was broken. Interestingly enough, the Game Pass Ultimate trial code sheet mentions the unannounced @Xbox Series S. It’s definitely a thing. pic.twitter.com/GX1rOYG5g7

Curiously, at the beginning of August it was always the photo of a controller that definitively brought down the last remaining doubts. The point is that if Microsoft already prints material with the name of the console on display, it probably means that the official announcement is now close. And finally, therefore, we will have some certainty about the hardware. In fact, in recent months, we have talked a lot about Xbox Series S, and we have even already analyzed the alleged specifications.
Apparently, Microsoft's idea would be to bring to the market a console that, unlike the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, will have less powerful hardware than its older sister, from which it will therefore not differ only in the absence of an optical reader. . This, however, in all likelihood will allow the Redmond giant to bring a console to the shelves with which to play next-gen titles for a particularly aggressive price already at launch: we are talking about $ 299, but at the moment they are only rumors. After all, we still don't even know the official price of Series X or PlayStation 5 (although there have been leaks).
