The development studio Spokko has announced The Witcher: Monster Slayer, a new free-to-play role-playing game for Android and iOS set in the universe of the homonymous saga that only at the end of May has exceeded 50 million copies sold.
The Witcher: Monster Slayer takes place before the events of The Witcher game series, so the world won't hear of Geralt of Rivia for a few hundred more years. Monsters roam the land freely in large numbers and the relatively new work of "witcher" has become indispensable across the continent.
Players will be able to use the time of day and real-life weather conditions to their advantage. To defeat the toughest enemies, you can then prepare powerful potions and oils, create bombs and monstrous baits, as well as upgrade the skills and equipment of your character.
The Witcher: Monster Slayer will be compatible with Pokémon Go-style geolocation-based AR technology (not the same as Niantic, of course), which can also be used for first-person combat. The software house has not announced an official launch date but lets us know that the game will soon be available for download on Google Play and the App Store.
