In June we finally saw PlayStation 5 for the first time: with its design that breaks with tradition it was not liked by everyone and divided the public, but it certainly did not go unnoticed. Since then, we have heard that it will be particularly large and heavy, and we have had the opportunity to explore it only thanks to the 3D renderings reconstructed from official images. Waiting for Sony to return to show it to us in a new event in August, perhaps delving into the discussion on hardware and outlining release date and prices, in these hours some images have emerged on the net that potentially provide us with new information.
As always, it is worth remembering that the rumors must be handled with care: the photos that we show you, which portray one of the two characteristic white side plates, would come from the Chinese production chain of PlayStation 5. They seem authentic, but it is impossible to exclude that for example, these are reproductions made using a 3D printer.
If this were not the case, there would be at least two aspects to be registered: the first, and the most evident, is that related to size. The A4 sheet that appears in the shots gives us a good measure of comparison, and confirms the impression of a console with imposing measures.
The second observation, however, is more subtle, and concerns the nature of the two "faces" placed on the sides of the console: it seems that they will be assembled to the main body not by screws, but by interlocking. In short, there is a concrete possibility that they are easily interchangeable. A solution that, in addition to facilitating access to internal components for repair, would also allow you to customize the aesthetics of your console. In this way not only would it be possible to release customized PlayStation 5 bundled with the various games, but also to sell separately only the side "covers", so that you can change your look several times during the same life cycle (a bit like it used to be) , with all the necessary differences, on the new Nintendo 3DS). Would you like it if it were really so?
