There is an air of change in the Italian Post Office regarding fixed and mobile telephony services. The first significant change concerns the double agreement with TIM and Open Fiber to bring ultra-broadband connectivity to private and corporate customers.
The management of the new fiber services is entrusted to PostePay (a subsidiary of Poste Italiane); terms, methods, offers and deadlines have not yet been communicated by Poste Italiane which for now limits itself to underlining:
The initiative is part of PostePay's strategy of consolidating fixed telephony services and aims to expand the range of offers aimed at the consumer and business market, with new ultrabroadband fiber optic services, with the aim of always reducing more the digital divide between the different areas of the country.
Poste Mobile also adds that the agreements with TIM and Open Fiber they strengthen the Group's ability to respond more and more effectively to the various needs of customers, confirming the central role of Poste Italiane in the digitalisation and economic development process.
News also for PosteMobile services: Vodafone has been awarded the contract with Poste regarding mobile telephony. The MVNO operator is therefore about to change his support network, moving from that of WindTre to that of the red operator. According to rumors, the supply contract concluded by Vodafone concerns both new activations and Full customers – it should be remembered that PosteMobile became a Full MVNO operator in 2014.
