Pokémon GO in a few weeks will stop working on smartphones based on Android 5, iOS 10, iOS 11 operating systems and on iPhone 5s and iPhone 6, as announced by Niantic.
With the release of update 0.189, which will be published in mid-October, Pokémon GO will no longer support the aforementioned operating systems and devices, consequently Trainers will no longer be able to access their game account, accumulated Pokémonete or collected items and of course they will no longer be able to enjoy the popular title.
We recommend that Trainers using the listed devices update them if they wish to continue playing Pokémon GO. Make sure you have saved your account information and password so you can log in on a new device!
Remaining on the Pokémon GO theme, please note that, starting today (September 1st) and for the next three weeks, Trainers will be able to take part in a series of mega-evolution themed in-game events. Details below:
- From Tuesday 1 September 2020 to Monday 7 September 2020, your goal will be to complete as many megaraids as possible. Collect Mega Energy to Mega Evolve your Pokémon and feel like a hero in raids!
- From Friday 11 September 2020 to Thursday 17 September 2020, perfect the fighting techniques of Mega Evolved Pokémon. Participate in Gym Challenges, Team GO Rocket Battles and Trainer Challenges (excluding GO Battle League Challenges).
- From Tuesday 22nd September 2020 to Monday 28th September 2020, befriend your Mega Evolved Pokémon and spend time with them. Remember to take pictures and share them with us on social media using the hashtag #GOsnapshot.
