As the next gen approaches, Konami has decided to reveal his plans for the future of PES, confirming a rumor that had already emerged last month: eFootball PES 2021 will not be a game in itself, but a Season Update of the current 2020 edition.
This confirmation comes as part of a wider speech by Konami, in which the company anticipates that the reasons for this choice lie in the need to devote more energy to its next project: the true next gen version of PES. This will be presented in mid 2021 and will hit the market during the second half of the year, so it is clear that we are referring to PES 2022.
According to what is learned from the Konami press release, which you find in Fonte, the next gen chapter is already under construction and is being developed around a new graphics engine – probably Unreal Engine 5 – and will introduce improvements in every aspect of the experience gameplay, from the models of the players to the physics of the ball, photorealistic visual effects and much more. Also announced the presence of big news for the myClub and Master League modes, even if you don't go into the details.
In short, it will be necessary to wait for the end of 2021 to find out how the title will evolve, but all fans will be able to start celebrating this year, as the 2021 Season Update will be offered at a very low price – still unofficial – and will be accompanied by several bonuses, on the occasion of the 25 years of the series. We leave you with a short teaser published by Konami referring to the next gen version:
