September 17th and 24th are two very important dates for users waiting to switch video cards by switching to a high-end model of Nvidia's new RTX Series 30 line. In fact, they coincide with the days in which the marketing of the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 will officially start respectively, while for the equally expected RTX 3070 the appointment is generally set for the month of October.
NVIDIA will kick off the sales of the Founders Edition via the official website, but partners are also gearing up to market their first models. The inclusion of the first custom cards on the Amazon Italy site confirms that it will not be necessary to wait beyond the dates indicated to purchase one of the new RTXs. And the news is certainly welcome, given that there was no lack of rumors about an initial difficulty in finding the new cards.
At the moment it is Gigabyte to open the dance by proposing four models: the two RTX 3080 and 3090 in the Eagle version and two other RTX 3080 and 3090 in the Gaming OC version. Being custom variants, characterized by a revised design compared to that of the Founders – see for example the triple fan dissipation system – the prices are a bit higher than those of the corresponding models sold by NVIDIA. The RTX 3080 Eagle is offered at 740 euros, the Gaming OC variant 797 euros; for the 3090 it starts from 1,595 euros (Eagle) and reaches the 1,641 euros of the Gaming OC.
To have a benchmark, the RTX 3080 and 3090 Founders Edition cost 719 and 1,549 euros respectively. For the sake of completeness, it should be noted that the Gigabyte models are sold and shipped directly by Amazon Italy, which currently offers the possibility of making pre-orders by indicating deliveries starting from September 17 (for the 3080) and from September 24 for the 3090. It is It is reasonable to wait that in the next few days (but it could also be hours) the number of custom RTX 30 video cards that can be purchased on Amazon will increase. In the meantime, the most impatient can consider purchasing one of the aforementioned cards.
