Smart working and remote teaching, increasingly widespread in times of pandemics, have given a boost to the sales of PCs and tablets. So it's no surprise that Microsoft is hard at work expanding its laptop catalog with a model designed primarily for students.
According to the rumors spread on the net by Zac Bowden of Windows Central, the new Surface Laptop, codenamed Sparti, will be equipped (in its basic configuration) with a 12.5 "display, 10th generation Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The pre-installed operating system will be Windows 10 (in S Mode).
The price should be between $ 500 and $ 600. Sparti would therefore have in the range of Surface Laptop products the same role that the Surface Go 2 (we published today the review) assumes in the line that includes the 2-in-1 convertibles from Microsoft: to be the entry proposal dedicated to those on a budget ( relatively) content but does not want to give up the quality of Surface laptops.
Please note that Surface Laptop 3 is marketed in two versions of 13.5 "and 15" with prices that in the Italian market now start at 999 euros. A hypothetical 12.5 "Surface Laptop at 500-600 euros would have a few more chances to carve out its space in the laptop market.
The announcement of the new exponent of the Surface line could take place in October. It is a month that Microsoft has often chosen in the past to announce the news of the ecosystem of Surface products – Surface Laptop 3 was presented on October 2, 2019 and Surface Laptop 2 on October 2, 2018 – and even this year the script could repeat itself. .
Second Bowden the Laptop will be accompanied by other Surface products and accessories introduced at the same time (if not at the same event)
