It seems that in the last few hours the Microsoft Edge browser is giving some problems, several users have encountered apparently random blocks that have been subsequently isolated to define their origin, the use of Google as the default search engine.
The crashes began tonight after one o'clock and affected both Windows and Mac users without distinction, now we are perhaps close to a resolution according to what Microsoft reported on Twitter.
Thanks for everyone's patience while we investigated! We believe this to be resolved now. We encourage you to revert your browser settings that you may have changed, and let us know if you are still experiencing any crashes typing into the address bar. https://t.co/Icx2qR3UHM

Microsoft recommends disabling the Search Tips in edge: // settings / search and this alternative solution seems to solve the problem, of course also switching to Bing will stop the crashes.
Have you also encountered the problem? Let us know in the comments, in the meantime we remind you that Microsoft has announced several hardware and software innovations during the Inspire 2020 virtual conference, many of which concern the Edge browser.
