LG OLED TV series GX Gallery, WX Wallpaper, ZX 8K and NanoCell NANO99 LCDs can now interact with Alexa in "hands-free" mode, ie without using the microphone on the remote control. The novelty, added for now through an update available in the United States, facilitates the use of voice controls thanks to the microphones integrated into the chassis of the televisions.
On a practical level, there are of course no differences from using the microphone on the remote control. Users can start playing music, listen to the latest news, check the weather forecast and all "smart" devices. To enable Alexa, a long press on the key for direct access to Prime Video is sufficient. From here you can register with your data or log in for those who already have an account.
The "hands-free" mode does not replace the use of the dedicated microphone button on the remote control. Users then have the ability to freely choose their preferred method to take advantage of Alexa. At the moment we have no news regarding the arrival of this function on LG TVs in Italy (it is however common practice to start from the USA or at least from the English language).
