A Nintendo made of LEGO is coming soon: the official set will be available for purchase from August 1st, also in Italy. It will cost less to buy a real one, but even if the old original cartridges cannot work, we are ready to bet that this nostalgic operation will reap a lot of victims. Also because the set is made so well that it is really difficult to resist it.
The console is depicted in detail, and there is even the opening hatch for the cartridge (also made of LEGO, of course, but still better try to blow it the same before inserting it); this would be enough, but the set also includes a controller – perhaps the first case in history where LEGO play could be LESS angular than the original product! – and a cathode ray tube TV clearly from the 1980s. The icing on a cake that is already more than succulent: on the TV there is the Super Mario game, and it's interactive! a lever that comes out from the side of the TV allows Mario to blow up, and the background flows just like in the real game.
As if that wasn't enough, the NES is compatible with Super Mario's interactive "maxi-minifig" found in set # 71360, also recently presented: it has LCD screens and speakers that allow it to emit sounds and move eyes / recreate facial expressions. Placing it on the upper frame of the TV, Mario will react to his opponents, follow his two-dimensional alter-ego, reproduce the classic music of the original game and much more.
In short, this is certainly not a small and inexpensive model: the pieces that compose it are 2,646 pieces, just a handful less than those of the famous Porsche 911 GT3 RS. 230 € is a lot, it cannot be denied, but it is a fair price, in general, with other LEGO products.
However, if you are one of those who have always preferred to play from PC rather than console, don't worry: there is something for you too.
