iPhone 12 (image of the alleged models at the opening) could be the only generation of melafonini with "universal" 5G support. According to a report by DigiTimesApple would be considering for the iPhones of the coming year to offer support at different standards based on the markets, to save on production costs.
5G network technology is the union of two network standards: mmWave and sub-6 GHz. The latter is the most popular because it is easier to implement, but also the least rapid and innovative, while the former is so advanced that to date there are very few networks that include it.
In the future, each market is expected to focus on one of the two technologies while neglecting the other. Apple could therefore distribute the iPhone with the ideal network support for that market. It is worth noting that it will not only be a question of modem, but also of auxiliary technology, such as antennas, which take up space and require particular construction measures.
It could be a less than ideal solution for those who travel a lot abroad, but it is clear that this is preliminary information – generation 12 has not even been presented yet, before it is time for the 13th a lot of things will change.
