It is called Room Decorator, and it is the new function based on Augmented Reality through which on Amazon (from the browser and via the app on iOS) it will be possible to materialize the furniture supplements that we are considering buying directly in our room. The products that support it are already thousands.
It looks a lot like AR shopping, an option introduced in 2017 in the iPhone app that basically performs the same function, but with a difference: now the objects that we can select, and with which we can populate the surrounding reality, will be more than one.
Not only that: it will be possible to virtually decorate your room even remotely, that is if we are not physically there. Such as? By saving an AR image, which we can then use at a later time. The e-commerce giant seems very interested in augmented reality applications: some time ago it also patented a smart mirror "of my desires", capable of dressing virtually and as if by magic those who are reflected in it.
Amazon Room Decorator will be available from today for 50% of US users who have installed the iOS version of the Amazon app: 100% will need a few weeks. We do not know at the moment when and if the function will also be available from us.
