Cuphead could arrive very soon on PlayStation 4 – already this afternoon – according to some sightings made on the PlayStation Store and a declaration of Geoff Keighley which heralds important news for the indie scene, arriving today at the Summer Game Fest.
As you can see from the image shown just below – shared on Twitter by the well-known insider Wario64 – the title developed by Studio MDHR is already shown on the PS Store, even if an official page of the game is still missing. Cuphead was released in 2017 on Xbox One – we reviewed it at the time – and stopped being a Microsoft exclusive already in April 2019, when it was also published on Switch.
Despite this, the debut on PlayStation 4 is still significant, as we are talking about a game born within ID @ Xbox, or the Microsoft program dedicated to independent developers, so we are witnessing an unusual passage in the home of the direct rival, to unlike what happened with Switch, always considered complementary rather than alternative to traditional platforms.
We just have to wait for news during the afternoon, when Cuphead's PS4 launch should be confirmed. We will come back to the matter as soon as there is official notice.
