Activision, Treyarch and Raven Software presented the multiplayer of Call of Duty Cold War also announcing the start dates of the beta.
The Cold War multiplayer sector is destined to usher in a new era of undercover operations, with a Black Ops style, which will guarantee an engaging gaming experience in a "global stage" characterized by a selection of expert operators from all over the world and from historical and realistic settings embellished with a graphic style that "transports" the players in the middle of the Cold War, at the beginning of the 80s.
This multiplayer journey takes agents all over the world, from the desert of Angola (map name: Satellite) to the frozen lakes of Uzbekistan (Crossroads), from the streets of South Beach (Miami), to the icy waters of the North Atlantic ( Armada), to the heart of the old Soviet Union (Moscow).
In addition to the traditional multiplayer modes (Team Deathmatch, Search and Destroy, Domination and Kill confirmed), Cold War will offer new ways to play by introducing new modes including VIP Escort (6vs6), Combined Arms (12vs12) and Fireteam (40 players divided into 10 teams of four). Also confirmed the presence of Control, a mode appreciated by all fans of Black Ops 4.
In terms of gameplay, ground combat in Cold War is based on the classic dynamics of movement and fire sequences of Black Ops, all with innovative elements including a new engine for the sound of weapons and the presence of Field Upgrades, game objects that can help the team or hinder the enemies. Field Upgrades can only be obtained in-game and within the time available, with a cooldown that lasts after death. Also added four new movement improvements:
- Sprint: operators automatically receive a speed boost at the start of a sprint, which is then reduced to a normal sprint speed.
- Slides: Slides begin and end in a crouched position for more believable movement.
- Step Control: Faster movement produces more noise, slower movement is quieter. Players can further reduce footsteps with the return of the classic Ninja Perk.
- Jumps: the height of the jumps has been made more natural and, when the operator lands, his movement slows down.
The ability to customize your primary weapons has been confirmed by going to the gunsmith. The system, which will also allow you to modify some secondary guns, allows you to customize your primary weapon with up to 54 accessories on eight different knots / attachment points, each with at least six options.
The series of points are back, however, characterized by a new system: the score obtained is kept at death, offering all players the opportunity to earn gory and fun tools that can turn the tide of battle in their favor.
Those who pre-order the PlayStation 4 version of Call of Duty Cold War will be able to access the beta preview from 8 to 9 October. Subsequently, from 10 to 12 October, the beta on PS4 will be public. Xbox One and PC players will have to wait until October 15, the day when the trial version will be accessible to those who have pre-ordered the game. From 17 to 19 October, the beta will be public on all platforms.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will then be available starting November 13 in three editions.
