Amazon announces Blink Outdoor and Blink Indoor, surveillance cameras heir to the Blink XT2 presented last fall: they are wireless, have a renewed design and have been made to protect homes both indoors and outdoors.
Compared to the previous model it is possible to double the number of AA lithium batteries, going from 2 to 4: with the battery expansion pack autonomy reaches 4 years with standard use.
Blink Outdoor and Indoor record video in FHD resolution (1080p), support IR night vision, motion detection, two-way audio and send notifications via the Blink Home Monitor app if suspicious motion is detected.
All Blink indoor and outdoor cameras include a free trial of the cloud storage plan valid until December 31, 2020. Customers will then be able to continue using cloud services by choosing between two different options:
- $ 3 monthly subscription for a camera
- $ 10 monthly subscription for an unlimited number of cameras
Customers can also choose to archive video clips locally, at no monthly cost, using the included sync module and USB flash drive (sold separately).
Integration with the Amazon Alexa assistant is also inevitable, through which it will be possible to ask to activate and deactivate the cameras, watch recorded videos or even start live streaming on compatible devices.
The Blink Outdoor and Indoor cameras are already available for pre-order in the United States at a price of $ 99.99 and $ 79.99 respectively. The Blink battery expansion (sold separately) will be available later this year.
The arrival of the video cameras on the European market is expected in the near future. Waiting for their debut, you could always turn to the previous Blink XT2 model on offer at an all-time low on Amazon.
