In the end, a reason why Amazfit's new smartwatch is called Zepp. And there is: it is "Zepp"the new name of the mobile app available for iOS and Android on their respective stores, which replaces the previous one by dedicating a completely redesigned logo to it.
For the user it changes little: the app is now "Zepp (formerly Amazfit)", to remind everyone of the new name, but the functions remain unchanged. Reason?"To bring the most comprehensive and professional health management experience to a wider audience", is written in the application description.
The functions, as we said, remain unchanged:
Health data visualization: Zepp records data related to your physical condition such as steps taken, hours of sleep, heart rate, calories burned, ECG and SpO2, also providing professional interpretations on this data; Exercise data analysis: Zepp is also able to record while you exercise and will display various data, including a detailed route and, subsequently, several analysis of exercise data; Smart Device Management Assistant: Zepp can be used to manage Zepp and Amazfit smart device settings, such as managing notifications, replacing the watch face, ordering widgets, and more.
They are only introduced:
- a complete overhaul of our brand
- interoperability with Zepp E (and support for the new Watch Face Store)
Zepp is an existing brand that not only offers wearable devices such as smartwatches and smart bands, but is also present on digital stores with solutions dedicated to the management and monitoring of physical activity. Huami thus wanted to integrate the services of the respective platforms within a single environment.
