More than a world, that of telephone offers is a jungle, both for the fixed line and for the mobile one. Prices can be more or less competitive, as they can be considered Too high or cheap depending on the type of user-consumer. In other words, to understand if 25 euros per month (24.99, sorry) for a fiber offer are many or "few", it would be necessary to cross-reference the figure with the purchasing power of the family concerned. So why not propose a social rate, dedicated specifically to those who struggle most to make it to the end of the month?
This was the first time ever in Europe for the telephone operator Orange, which launched the Tarifa Social: the less well-off people – they will obviously have to prove that they are – will have the right to request this special rate which, against the payment of 14.95 euros / month, includes unlimited internet on the fixed network with speeds up to 100Mbps in download, unlimited calls from fixed to national landlines, unlimited calls from mobile to landlines and mobile, plus 3GB for surfing at the maximum available speed.
The offer is renewed every 12 months, thus leaving users maximum flexibility to unsubscribe at any time. Users who will have to apply through a special call, which Orange will publish shortly (there will be from 1 to 31 October). The second call will open in 2021.
We put social engagement at the heart of our strategy and have identified what we think we can make our greatest contribution to: digital inclusion – Ignacio de Orúe, Orange.
Nor is this the only social initiative carried out by Orange in Spain: Gigas Solidarios is also mentioned in this regard, an initiative through which free internet access is offered for one year to all needy families in situations of digital exclusion. with school-age children. This, as well as the Tarifa Social, are interpreted by the telco as an increasingly indispensable form of help to fight the digital divide, especially considering the need for smart working and remote teaching in this period of health emergency.
