The next Apple event is official, and with it the presentation of the new iPad and Apple Watch is approaching, but it is quite unlikely that the iPad Pro and the expected MacBook equipped with Apple Silicon will be unveiled on that occasion.
According to the latest rumors reported by DigiTimesIn fact, it seems that TSMC is about to start mass production of the Apple 14X SoC at 5nm, which will be the basis of both the new iPad Pro and the first generation Apple Silicon (it will not be exactly a basic A14X, but a 12 core variant with improved graphics). Rumors suggest that mass production of the chips will start during the fourth quarter of 2020, with approximately 5-6,000 wafers produced each month, so it is possible to speculate that the launch of the A14X-based products could take place in the first months of next year. .
There seem to be no details regarding the basic variant of the processor, or the A14 that we will find on the iPhone 12, which according to the latest rumors should debut in October – at least some of its variants.
